This is Ron Graham, the president of the Houston Area Visually Impaired Network (HAVIN.) I am writing on behalf of our board to update you about the status of the 2020 HAVIN Insight Expo that had been scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2020.
In light of the Coronavirus, and the changes and restrictions that it has brought upon us, we are postponing this event. It is a program we all believe in and it is worthy of having. We will reschedule this year’s Insight Expo at the earliest opportunity. However, with the on-going evolution of the health crisis and the modifications we are all needing to make, we are unable to project exactly when this will be. After the threat of infection and spread of Coronavirus have passed, we will coordinate with the University of Houston to find a suitable date where their facilities will be once again available to us for this. We hope you will make plans to join with us when this date is set and arrives.
In the meantime, please take whatever measures you need to keep yourself and your loved ones safe, maintaining healthy and sanitary practices in all that you do. This is a quickly evolving situation that will be dynamic in what it brings to all our lives, requiring patience and resourcefulness from all of us, and will take time to resolve.
