Topic: O&M in the time of social distancing
Date: Saturday, July 11, 2020
Time: 1 PM – 3 PM CDT
Where: Virtual Zoom Meeting
During this time of dealing with COVID-19, life goes on for all of us. Orientation and Mobility haven’t changed and are still the hallmarks for independent travel for those who are visually impaired. We have the need to touch surfaces as we enter vehicles, ascend and descend stairs, and sitting down. Not only that, but we must also often deal with the inability to judge the recommended six-foot needed for social distancing. Even guide dogs cannot assist in keeping us socially distanced, as they are not trained to do that.
So, what are we to do? Start by making plans to join HAVIN for our next Zoom workshop from 1 p.m. till 3 p.m. on Saturday July 11, 2020.
At this workshop, Orientation and Mobility professionals Chris Chancellor and Brian Jones will offer a presentation and discussion on this very personal matter. There will be opportunities throughout the presentation for your questions.
We will be taking questions during the presentation, but if you know you have questions for our presenters , it would help expedite things if you would submit these to us ahead of time by emailing them to
